Started from a stack of unanswered requests
Cirevon began after watching too many reporters lose weeks to requests that were either too broad to answer or too vague to refuse cleanly. The gap wasn't a lack of persistence — it was a lack of time to get the drafting right.
From Batam, we started working with reporters across Indonesia on the parts of investigative work that rarely make it into the byline: the request itself, the filing that needs a second read, the draft that needs an honest check before it goes further.
We're small on purpose. Every engagement gets read by someone who has done this work before, not routed through a queue.

What we hold to

Precision over speed
A request or a filing note that's rushed usually has to be redone. We'd rather take the extra day.

Fairness to named parties
Every review checks not just whether a claim is strong, but whether it treats the people named in it fairly.

Honest qualification
We say plainly what a document proves and what it only suggests. Overstating a finding helps no one.
